Join us for a Creative Container Gardening Workshop on June 19th, from 1-3 PM!
In this creative container gardening workshop, each student will learn about plant soil needs, how to grown succulents and herbs, and go home with a beautiful little garden.
Gale Borger of Gerry’s Garden, is a gardening business based in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. Gale has been gardening for more than 50 years. She founded Gerry's Garden in order to share with others the tremendous satisfaction one can achieve from gardening. The business is dedicated to her mom, Gerry Walker, who always kept a shovel in the back of her truck, in case she came across a plant she could rescue. Gerry is with us in spirit as we share with you what we learned from her, and Gale's grandmother, Alice.
Gale and her husband Bob are now retired, and decided to be vendors at their local farmers' markets; selling potted herbs, veggie and herb containers, and artisanal gardening creations and supplies. It's a little more difficult for Gale to dig in the dirt these days, but together, she and Bob are discovering new and creative ways to garden. Bob has also designed some fantastic containers out of barnwood, pallet wood, and other creative materials, such as Radio Flyer™ wagons, shells, and teacups.
This workshop is sponsored in part by the Friends of the Library, and is FREE to students. Class size is limited to 20. To make your reservation, please call 608-742-4959, or email jblau [at] portagelibrary.us.
